「リンクに許可・許諾が必要である」という間違った考えがある。
その間違った考えを次の文章で批判した。（以前メールマガジン『インターネット哲学』で発表した文章をホームページにアップしたものである。）
● リンクに許可は必要か
「リンクに許可・許諾が必要」になれば、インターネット上のリンクの総数が減る。リンクはインターネットの中核である。〈リンク許可制〉は、その中核であるリンクを減らす。つまり、インターネット社会の発展を阻害する。
インターネット社会のグランドデザインを考える上で重要な文章である。
ぜひ、お読みいただきたい。
以下、この文章の主要な主張をまとめておく。
１ ホームページは多くの人に読んでもらうために公開するものである。公開する行為自体から、リンクに同意していると判断できる。だから、無断でリンクを張ればよい。
２ 許可を得るのには労力がいる。リンクを張る方、張られる方の両方に負担がかかる。〈リンク許可制〉になった場合、インターネット社会全体で無駄な労力を使うことになる。
３ そのような負担がかかるならば、「リンクは張りたくない」と思うのが人情である。許可を得ることがマナーになったら、リンクの数が減る。インターネットの中核はリンクである。つまり、〈リンク許可制〉はインターネット社会の発展を阻害する。だから、インターネット社会のグランドデザインとして〈リンク許可制〉は不適切である。
４ 「リンク禁止」と表示しているホームページもある。このような場合、私は「アホか。」と思う。ホームページを見てもらいたいのか。見てもらいたくないのか。どちらなのか。奇妙な行為である。
５ 「リンク禁止」は確かに奇妙な行為である。しかし、それが本人の〈意向〉ならば、尊重するという大人の対応もあり得る。
６ しかし、それはあくまで〈意向〉を尊重してもらったに過ぎない。リンクを禁止する〈権利〉がある訳ではない。〈意向〉と〈権利〉とを区別しよう。
７ 〈意向〉を尊重できない場合がある。悪徳商法のホームページにリンクを張り、その悪さを指摘する場合などである。
８ だから、リンクするかどうかは自分で決めてよい。ほとんどの場合、「リンク禁止」は「アホらしい」ものである。だから、「無視して、どんどんリンクを張ろう。」と思っても大きな問題はない。

Good post. I learn one thing tougher on completely different blogs everyday. It’ll all the time be stimulating to read content from different writers and follow a bit of something from their store. I am impressed, I must say. Very seldom do I come across a blog that’s both educational and entertaining, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head. サイバラ氏の言動としてそうあってほしいという気持ちはわかる。
法で問題ないということも。
だけど、『ホームページ作成者が"すべての人に"ホームページを見てもらいたい』と考えるのは明らかに間違っている。
マナーという観点で言えば、リンクは許可を得るのがマナーである。
そういう方面の人には見てもらいたくないという意識的なフィルタと言うものは存在する。
もちろん一般に公開しているので、多少の見てもらいたくないに該当する人が見に来ることもあるだろう。
しかし、そういう者がリンクをたどって多数表れることは、非常に困る。
他に例をあげるならば、アダルト関係からのリンクは禁止というものもあるが、リンクが貼られている＝その元のHPと関連性があると見られてしまうことがあり(そういう風に見ることのほうが間違いだとしても)、その関連性があると見られることによる不利益というものも存在する。
